Cairns City

Commercial cleaning for the Cairns CBD

The city centre packs offices, shopfronts, consulting suites and hospitality into a little under two square kilometres, and each of them needs something different. We clean business premises across Cairns City on rosters built around your trading hours rather than ours.

What we clean here

Three kinds of premises, one precinct

The CBD is dense and mixed. A tenancy on the third floor and the shopfront underneath it are different jobs even when they share an address.

Offices above street level

Most CBD tenancies sit above a shopfront, which means lift access, a shared lobby and a building manager to work in with. Evening cleans suit these best. The access arrangements get sorted once, and after that the schedule runs without anyone having to let us in.

Street level glass

Shields, Lake and Abbott Street frontages take salt air, road film and constant hand contact. Entry glass in the city centre shows marks within days, and it is the first thing a customer reads about a business. Shopfronts usually want a shorter cycle than everything behind them.

Hospitality and back of house

Cafes, bars and restaurants toward the Esplanade need the areas customers never see kept to the same standard as the ones they do. Floors, amenities and bin areas are the parts that get noticed the moment they slip.

Common questions

Cleaning in the city centre

The CBD has its own logistics. These come up on nearly every quote in the city.

Can you work around CBD trading hours?

Yes, and for most city premises it is the only sensible option. Offices are cleaned after close, shopfronts before opening, and hospitality after service. An empty space is faster and more thorough to clean, and your staff and customers never see the work happening.

How do you handle parking and access in the city?

It is worked out at the quote and then it stops being your problem. The CBD has roughly 4,700 parking spaces and very few of them are near the right door at the hours we need them, so access matters more here than anywhere else in Cairns. Keys, codes and loading dock timing get sorted once.

Do cruise ship days change what the space needs?

For anything customer facing, yes. Ships berthing at the Cruise Liner Terminal push a lot of extra foot traffic through the city centre in a short window, and entries, floors and amenities wear it. Premises on those routes often add a mid-week visit through the season rather than lifting the whole roster.

Do you clean shared lobbies and common areas?

Yes. Strata common areas, lift lobbies and shared amenities are usually arranged through the building manager or body corporate rather than an individual tenant. We can quote the common areas, your own tenancy, or both together.

What about heritage buildings?

The city centre has a number of older and heritage listed buildings, and the surfaces in them do not respond well to a generic approach. Timber, tile and original joinery need appropriate products and a lighter hand. We establish what is actually on site before anything gets used on it.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a week of the walk through for a standard office or shopfront. Larger sites, and anything that needs a deep clean first, take a little longer to schedule properly. That is worth doing rather than rushing the first visit and leaving you disappointed.
