Dan Hart has worked in cleaning across Cairns and Far North Queensland for over twenty years, and has run Commercial Cleaning Cairns since 2020. Each part of town wears differently: the CBD runs on trading hours, Portsmith runs on shifts, and the Esplanade carries salt air that inland sites never see. These are the areas we cover, and what changes in each.

Areas we cover

What changes from one precinct to the next

Cairns City

The city centre packs offices, shopfronts, consulting suites and hospitality into a little under two square kilometres, which means two premises at the same address can be completely different jobs. A third-floor tenancy and the shop underneath it wear at different rates and need different hours. Street-level glass on Shields, Lake and Abbott takes a beating from foot traffic and needs doing often enough to still look deliberate. Most CBD work happens before opening or after close, because there is nowhere to put customers while a floor dries. See what we clean in Cairns City, or read our office cleaning scope.

Cairns North

Cairns North is built around the hospital on the Esplanade and the accommodation strip beside it. Consulting suites, allied health rooms, hotel back of house and the offices in between all run to somebody else’s clock, so the cleaning fits between appointments, shifts and guests rather than the other way around. Clinical rooms need a documented standard and the right products, not a general-purpose wipe down. Accommodation needs back of house kept to a standard guests never see but always notice. Portsmith

Portsmith is a working precinct, not an office park. Warehouses, workshops, transport depots, seafood and meat suppliers and the marine trades along Trinity Inlet all need cleaning built for a hard-wearing site. Amenities take the heaviest use here, and they are usually what fails an inspection. Floors carry grit, oil and water rather than office dust, so safety flooring needs a brush and solution that lifts grit out of the texture instead of polishing over it. Work generally runs around shifts rather than trading hours. See what we clean in Portsmith.

Bungalow

Bungalow sits between the CBD and the industrial end of town, and its premises reflect that: wide glass showrooms fronting Mulgrave Road with a working warehouse behind them. It is effectively two businesses in one building, and they wear at completely different rates. The customer-facing half needs glass, floors and a reception area that look right every morning. The half behind it needs the same treatment a Portsmith site gets. Quoting a Bungalow job well means pricing both halves honestly rather than averaging them. See what we clean in Bungalow, including window cleaning for showroom glass.

The rest of our run

Beyond the four precincts above, we work across the southern and central suburbs. These are mostly mixed streets rather than single-use precincts: a medical suite next to a workshop next to an office above a shop, each needing something different from the same visit. Travel time is folded into the quote rather than added as a surprise line later.

We work the southern and central Cairns suburbs rather than the northern beaches, which keeps travel short enough to hold a reliable schedule. If your site sits outside that run, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly whether we can service it properly rather than take the booking and let the schedule slip. If you are weighing up frequency and cost, our guide to commercial cleaning rates in Queensland covers what actually moves a price.
